piano lessons
As a teacher, my aim is to help each student figure out why they love music, and to understand the purpose and ideas behind their repertoire. A good musician is able to understand a piece and express their own ideas, using those that the composer has already laid out for them as a road map. My students hold themselves to a high standard and learn to comprehend and express music as a means of communication. Lessons are fun and full of positive reinforcement, but we still get stuff done! Games, entertaining classes, and level-appropriate songs shape each student's lessons; a pedagogical approach that focuses on building skill at the piano and a passion for music at the same time. Students are also provided access to recitals, studio classes, and events each semester to build community and musicianship.
